Chevrolet Volt Concept -Hybrid Electric Car

The Chevrolet Volt is one of the newest hybrid vehicles to come onto the market in the USA. First released in December 2010, the Chevrolet Volt is a plug-in hybrid electric car that is labelled as one of the most fuel efficient vehicles currently on sale in the United States!

Sales of the Chevrolet Volt have been very good and it has gone on sale in numerous countries around the world. Before the car was released, Chevrolet expected to manufacture 30,000 cars for 2012, but strong sales figures have seen that figure exceeding 45,000. In 2011, 25,000 Chevrolet Volt hybrid cars have already been manufactured.
The Chevrolet Volt isn’t yet available for purchase in all states – currently only California, Washington DC, Michigan, Texas, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut; the cars will be rolled-out to all states by mid-2012.

Lithium batteries are generally more stable than conventional car batteries, and can withstand damage, such as drilling, no spark or catch fire. But more electric vehicles like the Volt and Nissan Leaf make much more powerful batteries that hybrids like the Toyota Prius. Before the Volt was released, GM has held several clinics with fire and paramedics on how to deal with accidents Volt, including the disconnection of the batteries and the location of power lines.
